With a bit of care, your child can enjoy their jewelry beautifully for a long time.
1. Storage
Keep it dry
Humid spaces (like bathrooms) can cause plating to wear faster. Store jewelry in a cool, dry place.
Store pieces separately
Earrings rubbing against each other can scratch metal or chip enamel. Use the gift box or pouch to keep each pair separate.
Avoid direct sunlight
Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may fade colors over time. Store away from direct light when not in use.
2. Before & After Wearing
Before
Apply perfume, hairspray, lotion, and sunscreen first. Once fully dry, put the jewelry on.
After
Gently wipe pieces with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and sweat. This helps plating last longer.
Before bed
Remove jewelry before sleeping to avoid pressure on the ears and to prevent bending or snagging.
3. Water & Chemicals
Remove for showers, baths, and swimming
It’s not just water—shampoo, soap, chlorine, and spa chemicals can damage plating and enamel.
Watch out for hand sanitizer and alcohol sprays
If alcohol-based products touch the jewelry, wipe it off and let it dry fully.
4. Caring for Clip-On Earrings
Adjust gently
Opening the clip too wide or too often can weaken the metal. Adjust just enough for a snug, comfortable fit.
Take breaks
If your child’s ears look red or they say it feels tight, remove the earrings and let their ears rest before wearing again.
